Our trips to Mainapokhari, where our main projects are running, is not only for work. We get in contact with the locals, play with the kids or do little hikings. Jiri, the former main entrance to the Mount Everest is nearby. For those, who want to visit temple, there are some, also for morning praying.

But with participation in our projects you can help anyway.

You will stay with a local family and experience the Nepali life while living and eating with them. Also, it is required to donate your desired amount so that another needy project can be supported.

Is there a best time to volunteer? How long should I volunteer?

You can volunteer in all year around. Generally, a volunteer can participate from one week to a month. But, if you want to work longer than that, we can discuss for further opportunity.

Where do I sleep? What do I eat?

In Kathmandu, where we get in contact first, you will find many hotels. You will find a lodge or a guest house with Nepali Daal Bhaat and other delicacies. When you are at the project sites, we travel to the place together. You can live with local people and eat local food especially, Daal Bhaat, bread, green vegetable etc. In almost every place in Nepal you will find food with or without meat and a variety of vegan food aswell.

What do I need to bring to the project sites during volunteering?

You need to take warm clothes for winter and light dresses for summer days. It will be good if you take with a sleeping bag in light backpack, with your own water bottle, medicine and other personal stuff that you need.

Can I bring clothes for kids?

Yes, you can.

How much in advance do I need to book my volunteering time?

Please book your volunteering time at least in a month advance.

That’s totaly fine. Language will not be a barrier for your volunteering if you speak English.

If you have collected fund and eager to donate us, please contact us via email info@samundra.org for necessary support.

You can wear as usual dresses. There is no dress restriction in Nepal but people feel awkward if you get exposed.

What if I need to cancel my visit?

Please inform us 15 days before your participation, if you don’t come. We organize the whole trip and combine the talents of everyone. So, if you don’t come, we need to reorganize and recombine. Sometimes you work with people and maybe they depend on your work before they can start. Or a project can’t be completed, when an ability is missed to short before starting.
