Situation
Nepal has been deeply affected by the recent flash floods, with Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading among the worst-affected districts. The disaster has caused loss of lives, displacement, and extensive damage to homes, livelihoods, roads, and essential infrastructure.
In this difficult time, we are mobilizing an Emergency Relief Fund to support affected families with immediate necessities such as food, medicines, shelter, and other essential supplies. We warmly invite our friends from all over the world to join us in extending timely support and solidarity to communities affected by this devastating disaster.
We are raising a small emergency fund to support the people of Betrawati, Uttargaya, and the surrounding flood-affected communities in Rasuwa. We assess the situation, establish connection with local authorities, and distribute relief materials in coordination with the District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC), as required by the Government of Nepal. Our aim is to ensure that support reaches those who need it most, delivered in a timely, practical, and coordinated manner.
Relevance of the Support in Betrawati and Uttargaya
Betrawati, Uttargaya are communities we know well through our long-standing work and engagement in the Rasuwa region. Many local families here depend, directly or indirectly, on transportation, trade, and small businesses for their livelihoods.
The recent flash flood has caused significant damage to homes, roads, businesses, and local infrastructure. For many families, the impact goes beyond the immediate loss of property, their livelihoods and sources of income have also been severely disrupted. Families may face considerable difficulty meeting their basic needs while the area and its economy recover.
We believe that supporting the people of Betrawati, Uttargaya, and surrounding affected communities is something we can do directly and meaningfully. We coordinate with local authorities and community representatives to identify the most urgent needs and provide assistance through the appropriate channels.
Our goal is simple: to stand with these communities during this difficult time, help meet their immediate needs, and contribute to their journey toward recovery and rebuilding.
Relief Distribution Approach
We follow government procedures to reach affected people with our relief package as soon as possible, support given without delay is of the greatest benefit.
We aim to support approximately 500 families across the affected communities, though the final number of beneficiaries will depend on the funds raised. Based on assessed needs, we procure materials in Kathmandu and transport them to the affected area for distribution.
According to the current government response system, individuals and organizations are not permitted to enter affected areas and distribute relief independently. We coordinate closely with the District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) and other relevant local authorities to assess the situation. We fully respect this system, as effective coordination helps prevent duplication, confusion, and gaps in relief distribution, while ensuring assistance reaches those who need it most.

Betrawati, Uttargaya
Our relief team has returned to Kathmandu after a trip to Betrawati to support families affected by the recent flash floods.
Working alongside the local ward representative and the municipality’s president, the team focused on needs that hadn’t yet been met. After speaking with the ward, it became clear that food supplies were already being handled by other organisations on the ground, so the team directed its support elsewhere.
Around 200 children and women were supported with:
- Sanitary pads
- Tracksuits
- Towels and blankets
- Notebooks, pencils and pens
- School bags
- Washing soap
- Food poisoning medicine
Thank you to everyone who made this relief effort possible, and to the local ward team whose guidance directed support to where it was needed most. Relief continues, one community at a time.
